In January, 2024 the Historic Macedonia Baptist Church of Cape May received a Cape May County Division of History regrant award to research and give presentations on the three black churches and the role of the Negro Spirituals in Cape May, New Jersey. 

Historic Macedonia Baptist Church remains the last active black church on the Cape Island. The hour long presentation shares the historic influence of each once active black church upon the Cape May New Jersey community.
